Assignment 4

Since Opening Night of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is next Friday, I am assuming we won't meet for the next two weeks. So here are your assignments.

First, re-read your own paragraphs--you should have six of them.

Now, re-read and check everything on this list:
  • Capitalize the first and last words of your title, and all the important words in between.

  • Capitalize all proper nouns and the first letter of every sentence.

  • End each sentence with a period, a question mark or an exclamation point.

  • No sentence fragments! "Walking down the road to the store." is not a sentence. (You need to tell us, in the same sentence, who or what was walking down the road.)

  • What was the assignment for this paragraph? Could you improve it? could you add more description, or make your main idea clearer, or your introduction and conclusion stronger?
Second, when you're done editing your paragraphs, then it's time to leave comments for everyone else. Tell them everything you love about it, and try to find an error they missed. (Grammar Nerds rule!) Did they fulfill the assignment? Any suggestions for things they could improve?

Third--I hope you're still reading--because there will be PRIZES at our next meeting! Possible awards may go to Best Editor (of your own posts), Most Helpful Editor (of others' posts), Most Improved Paragraph, Most Descriptive Paragraph, Best Details, and the Alacrity Award (to the person who most quickly edits and improves all their paragraphs).

All prizes will be edible!
